I'm Candice Jeffers, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with an unusual background—I spent nearly a decade in cardiovascular critical care before dedicating myself to mental health. That ICU experience taught me something crucial: psychiatric crises deserve the same urgency, expertise, and unwavering support as any cardiac emergency.
For nine years at Ascension Seton Medical Center's Cardiovascular ICU, I supervised teams through impossible situations. I learned to stay steady when everything felt uncertain, to read the subtle signs others might miss, and to offer hope when families needed it most. Those years shaped how I practice psychiatry today—with precision, presence, and profound respect for what you're facing.
I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at University of South Alabama in 2024, immersing myself in over 600 clinical hours spanning outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatry, and crisis intervention. My pediatric nursing background adds another layer—I understand how early experiences shape us and how differently mental health shows up across ages.
My practice centers on thorough psychiatric evaluations, personalized medication management, and crisis intervention for all ages. I specialize in suicide risk assessment, trauma-informed approaches, and evidence-based treatments that actually fit into real lives. I'm MOUD-trained and licensed for telehealth in Texas, California, Arizona, and Florida.
Here's what matters most: I approach mental health as someone who's held space for both miracles and heartbreak. I know seeking help requires tremendous courage. I know healing rarely follows a straight line. And I know you need a provider who won't flinch, no matter what you share. My work blends critical care decisiveness with deep compassion—because you deserve both.
I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) beginning my career as an ER nurse in 2007. I specialize in helping adults and teens with ADHD understand their symptoms, improve focus and organization, and build confidence through ADHD evaluations and medication management.
Many of my clients are busy professionals, parents, and students who struggle with inattention, restlessness, or feeling “stuck.” My goal is to help you develop clarity, structure, and balance so you can feel more in control of your life. I also treat anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, which often overlap with ADHD, using an integrated and evidence-based approach.
I provide telehealth psychiatric care throughout California — including Sacramento, Folsom, Roseville, the Bay Area, Modesto, Fresno, and Southern California — through Grace Mental Health Resources, offering accessible, compassionate, and individualized treatment from the comfort of your home.
I specialize in medication management for a variety of mental health conditions. I have over 19 years of experience in nursing and over a decade of experience in nutrition. I like to look at the whole person and approach ways to improve your symptoms. I am here to support you in your mental health.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe mental health care should be collaborative, practical, and tailored to your unique needs. My approach combines evidence-based treatment with real-life understanding whether that includes therapy, lifestyle changes, or medication management when appropriate. I value honesty, cultural awareness, and meeting you where you are. My goal is to help you feel more stable, confident, and in control of your mental health not just during appointments, but in your everyday life.
I am an integrative clinician providing psychotherapy, coaching, and mindful medication management to support meaningful and lasting change. I am also a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s from UCSF (2018), where I trained at Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and Clinics. Additionally, I hold a Sociology degree from Dartmouth College, have completed coursework at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program, and foundational studies in energy medicine at the Academy of Intuition Medicine. I continue to refine my work through ongoing psychoanalytic supervision.
