I have been a Social Worker for over 17 years. I have been trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from The Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA and Marriage and Family Therapy from the Multicultural Family Institute in Highland Park, NJ. I have also been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am trained and utilize many other modalities such as guided meditations, sound vibration and energy healing, and emotional freedom technique ("tapping"). I truly believe everyone grows and heals their own way and there is not one perfect formula for anyone.
I believe that we have all the answers inside us and ultimately are our best guides. I look at counseling and therapy as a way to connect you to yourself, so you can begin to heal and trust your own inner wisdom.
When I work with clients I come from a place of no judgement. In our sessions you will feel a safe space to open up and share what you are struggling with. I feel that under all of our pain, shame, guilt and sadness is our REAL selves and working together we can see where all the beliefs came from and start to find your way back to your true self.
I'm Jackie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) and Certified Addiction Counselor with 20 years of experience across community mental health, inpatient, and outpatient settings — including Maimonides Medical Center and NYU Langone. I earned my MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work and have supervised post-graduate clinicians working toward licensure.
I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, and the lasting effects of growing up in emotionally unpredictable or inconsistent homes. If you spent your childhood managing everyone else's feelings while your own got put on the back burner — this is a space built for you.
I started my private practice because I wanted to offer something less clinical and more human. Therapy with me is warm, direct, and skills-focused. I'll challenge you when it's useful, support you when it's needed, and yes — there will probably be a book recommendation somewhere along the way.
Outside the therapy room I'm a real person too, which is probably why clients tell me I'm easy to talk to and occasionally make them laugh when they least expect it.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, or life changes, you don’t have to go through it alone. Did you experience trauma in childhood or adolescence? Are you experiencing stress, anxiety, fear, or depression? Do you feel misunderstood by others, judged, or find it challenging to connect with others? Therapy is a safe place where you can understand yourself better and learn to cope with these thoughts and feelings, which may be interfering with your happiness, health, and relationships.
I have extensive experience in treating eating disorders, anxiety and depression, interpersonal/intra-personal strife, and OCD/OCPD. I received advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am up to date on the latest research on eating disorder treatment and psychotherapy and am an active member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
