I offer individual psychotherapy for all adults, but specialize in working with those navigating the intersection of neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, OCD) and complex trauma. Many of my clients have experienced years of feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or “too much,” often without a clear understanding of how their brain and nervous system work. My approach is both trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, helping clients build self-understanding, regulate their nervous systems, and move toward a greater sense of stability, clarity, and self-trust.
Before I begin with my introduction, I want to share that I am grateful to be given the opportunity to walk with you on your journey, and whatever that may entail. My goal is to help you explore, gain insight, and bring peace and clarity to whatever situation brings you here.

Hello, I’m Mike McInerney, a full-time school counselor and part-time private therapist for adults and adolescents. I have been counseling adults and teens for more than 20 years. I am very open to assisting clients with many sorts of concerns. My focus areas include working with teens, school-related issues, and men's health.
I was driven to become a licensed clinical social worker because of my own personal journey with therapy, in which I discovered how life-changing it can be. I bring the knowledge and understanding of what it’s like to begin something new and scary but also realize that everyone’s story is unique.
I received my Master’s in Social Work from West Chester University at their Philadelphia Campus. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
It’s exhausting to live a life that feels more like a performance than an experience. You may feel heavy with the weight of "doing"—meeting expectations while losing the quiet essence of "being." Whether navigating the hollow ache of loss, the fog of depression, or the echoes of trauma, I know how it feels to be a stranger to yourself. Therapy begins when you decide you can no longer just "push through." We move forward by creating space for your pain to be heard. It's a journey of reclamation: stripping away the noise to rediscover the resilient, authentic soul that has been waiting for you all along.
